Who here is not enjoying the World Cup 2010 at South Africa? Well, you’re missing a heck of a good time. MacPCWiz says, this only comes once every four years — get your fan mode on and be part of the madness.
OR, bust out your Xbox 360 — making waves these days because of the new model and Kinect coming out — and play a game or 2 of good old console footie. Electronic Arts is also releasing the FIFA World CUp 2010 game for all of you Xbox 360 people.
Once every four years, EA Sports gets to put out a licensed World Cup game in addition to its yearly FIFA game offerings. This year, 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is arriving in stores just six months after the release of the well-recieved FIFA Soccer 10, so we expect that it won’t represent a major leap forward over that game. Some nice improvements have been made, though, and while you won’t find the same range of gameplay modes here as in a regular FIFA release, there are plenty of options to keep you entertained while you’re waiting for the next World Cup match to kick off. And of course, when you want to relive or rewrite the tournament once it’s over. A lot of us footy fans like doing that.
Look at the awesome gameplay:
The Good:
- Plays great, a very realistic game of soccer
- Impressive World Cup environment visuals and animation
- Difficulty and control options cater to players of all skill levels
- Much, much better commentary than FIFA 10
- Imagine this game on Kinect!
- Very limited online options
- Even minor lag ruins online games
- Some lengthy load times between matches
If you are a true football gaming fan, you would probably get this, especially as the Xbox 360 delivers stunning gameplay both in single player and online. Match the current World Cup craze with your Xbox 360 game sessions!
