As you can see Asia-Pacific manufacturer ASUS bagged all 3 top spots (and then some) — looks like they got this whole netbook deal figured out. More people are trusting, and more importantly PURCHASING the Asia-Pacific brands more than the American ones, when it comes to netbooks — Toshiba, Samsung and Acer also holding spots here.

Whether or not we like it — we at MacPCWiz are still undecided if we like this whole netbook craze — netbooks are apple of the consumers’ eyes at the moment. The “thin client” model that netbooks perpetuate bodes well for cloud computing as a whole, the user only needs to add a few more accessories for more functionality on these babies — like an external DVD burner, for instance, for data archiving needs — netbooks are generally flat on HDD storage space. And we have to admit, these things are just so darn cute!

With nVidia’s ION graphics solution getting more attention from the manufacturers, expect a few ION-powered netbooks barging into the list soon, making for beefier (as in HD-ready beefy) and more robust netbooks in the future.

  • Firstly, let me commend your lucidity on this subject. I am not an expert on this theme, but after registering your article, my understanding has improved considerably. Please tolerate me to snap up your rss feed to remain in touch with any inflowing updates. Pleasant job and will pass it on to admirers and my fans.

  • d to upgrade to the Home edition, which I love(was only $79 to upgrade). Windows 7 runs perfectly and has a lot of cool new features and is definetely the best Windows OS so far. I also appreciated that the media card reader will take my XD cards, as a lot do not. I have added a wireless laser mouse and am going to upgrade the memory to 2gb. By far, my favorite thing is the portability of this fully functioning computer. I am so excited about Amazon’s Kindle for PC program coming out next month, which will allow my netbook to be a book reader also.

Couldn’t be happier unless anyone can tell me how to keep my teenage daughter away from it!!! LOL
