It’s been a while since we dumped some Tablet PCs on you, so MacPCWiz gives you a bump on the tablet front — all of these sporting the new Windows 7 operating system.Ready? Here we go.
MSI WindPad 100
Take your eyes off the pretty lady and concentrate on the tablet for a moment. Here’s the lowdown:
- 1.66GHz Intel Atom Z530 processor
- 1024×600-resolution capacitive display
- 2GB of RAM
- 32GB SSD
- Windows 7 Home Premium, with an MSI Wind Touch UI layer.
- 2 USB ports
- HDMI port – able to output 720p HD video
- webcam
Not bad at all, and the WindPad 100 will hit the market later this year for around $499.
Viliv X10
The 10-inch Viliv X10 is one of the more attractive and solidly built tablets around. It’s got brushed aluminum edges and a red carabiner slot of sorts on its bottom right bezel. The model still isn’t final, but it will have:
- 1 USB port
- microphone jack
- MicroSD slot
- 1366 x 768 Screen, 3D Graphics, HD Video
- Intel Atom Z520 or Z530 processor
- 1GB of RAM
- 32 or 64GB SSD
- 1.3-megapixel webcam

CTL 2go PC Slate

On initial hand feel, the 2goPC seems thicker and heavier than most other Windows 7 tablets around. The one thing going for it is a very nice capacitive screen. It also has an Intel Atom N450 processor, two USB ports and mini-VGA jack. It will also run Intel’s Blue Dolphin skin on top of Windows 7 Home Premium.
Malata PC-A10001
We do hope it will get a more, errr… “customer friendly” name. Like the others it has an Intel Atom N450 processor and Windows 7 Home Premium. One interesting point here is that the Malata will be cramming in a full hard drive — there are 160GB, 250GB, 320GB options listed. It will also have a 1.3-megapixel webcam.
=======
It’ s a great time for mobile devices — what with the Apple iPad leading the way. To tell the truth, we probably would prefer a Windows Tablet, just because of the expansion options. Being able to plug in an external hard disk, external DVD burner, or even a USB Blu-ray burner on a USB port is worth all the hassle.
And with most Windows 7 tablets able to do HD video now, those HD content will be at home on one of these babies — coming from a Blu-ray disc or locally on an external HDD.
If you are planning to get one of these, we just might think it’ll be more fun than eating an Apple. *wink wink*
